Conditional Gift in Will
If you would like Hadassah to receive the bequest after both you and your spouse (or other loved ones) have passed away, or after the occurrence of some other event, please insert the appropriate conditional language in one or more of the sample provisions above. For example:
"If my husband [wife] does not survive me [or other condition], I give and bequeath to Hadassah, The Women's Zionist Organization of America, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation having its principal offices currently located in New York, NY, tax ID no. 13-1656651, the sum of $_________ for Hadassah Medical Organization."
Bequests Designated for Specific Purposes
You may choose to designate your bequest for Youth Aliyah, Young Judaea scholarships, or a special purpose within Hadassah Medical Organization, such as a specific medical field. For example, to leave a sum certain to Youth Aliyah, please provide your attorney with the following sample wording:
"I give and bequeath to Hadassah, The Women's Zionist Organization of America, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation having its principal offices currently located in New York, NY, tax ID no. 13-1656651, the sum of $_________ for Youth Aliyah."
If you designate your bequest for a specific purpose, we request that you include the following will provision to ensure that your gift will continue to provide for Hadassah's needs. For example:
"If in the judgment of Hadassah, The Women's Zionist Organization of America, Inc., it becomes, or is likely to become, impossible or impractical to accomplish the purposes of this gift, the funds may be used for such related purposes and in such manner as determined by Hadassah, The Women's Zionist Organization of America, Inc."
